FIREPLACES

emotional context: ponderous.

We sell gaslogs for vented fireplaces. Five working fireplaces were built in my location to show customers how they will look and operate in a real fireplace. We've had alot of customers ask us if we sell actual fireplaces. These customers believe that fireplaces can be uninstalled and replaced like an appliance such as a dishwasher or refrigerator. When we inform them that a contractor and plumber will be necessary to replace their fireplace, as that is a remodeling job. They become indignant and ask , "Well, where did you get those?", pointing to our fireplaces. We explain that the contractor put them in for the business. Silence as the customer realizes..something.

I don't own a home but this seems like common sense to me. Never in all the times that I've moved did the issue of taking the fireplace with us come up. I mean, c'mon, who ever took their fireplace with them when they moved?

Thanksgiving

What I'm thankful for...
Too much and too many to list.

Thanksgiving wrap-up:

Aunt Jan. I believe it was a combined effort with Donna but I think Jan has the magic touch. Great turkey this year, moist and tasty.
Board games.
Acting like Russians and Mormans.
Wii addresses.
At&t.
Jean's sunglasses.
Chrismanakuh lights on the door. Now if I can only find the lights for the bush.
Polish your p--- flaps. (lol, wtf?)
oh yeah, and no lettuce leaf appetizers!

Song of the day

Breath me by Sia

Just finished Six Feet Under. Great series. The finale of The Shield was also very good.

S.O.B. s

One of my favorite quotes from Arrested Development is from Lucille Bluth during her conjugal visit with George Bluth.

"I'd cry but I can't spare the moisture."

Yahoo will provide suggestions based on your search entries. Type in "I'd cry but" and it's the first suggestion.

Obese have right to 2 airline seats: Canada court

Thu Nov 20, 10:41 am ET

OTTAWA (Reuters) – Obese people have the right to two seats for the price of one on flights within Canada, the Supreme Court of Canada ruled on Thursday.

The high court declined to hear an appeal by Canadian airlines of a decision by the Canadian Transportation Agency that people who are "functionally disabled by obesity" deserve to have two seats for one fare.

The airlines had lost an appeal at the Federal Court of Appeal in May and had sought to launch a fresh appeal at the Supreme Court. The court's decision not to hear a new appeal means the one-person-one-fare policy stands.

The appeal had been launched by Air Canada, Air Canada Jazz and WestJet.

Went to a coffee shop in Fort Worth, Eurotazza, which was really great. It has a vibe similar to some of the independent coffee shops in Austin. Free Wi-fi too.

Also, I compiled some of my toons at my site, distract yourself momentarily here.

WORLD WAR Z 2

Finished the book today. I highly recommend it.
As DM has commented in the previous post, it has been optioned for a movie. It would be great if they made a miniseries on HBO or Showtime.

Kanye West says he's 'voice of this generation'

11/13/2008 4:00 PM, AP
Derrik J. Lang

Kanye West is to music what Michael Jordan was to basketball — at least that's what West thinks, in his humble estimation.

"I realize that my place and position in history is that I will go down as the voice of this generation, of this decade, I will be the loudest voice," he said in an interview on Wednesday. "It's me settling into that position of just really accepting that it's one thing to say you want to do it and it's another thing to really end up being like Michael Jordan."

DISTRICT 9

Neill Blomkamp, director of Tetra Vaal is working on a feature length film, District 9. Here's some info and viral links...here

Steven Spielberg has the rights to make a live action Ghost In The Shell. I really hope he doesn't. But if Neill directed it, I'd be all for it.

Update: Neill made the ads for Citreon with the transforming robots. Check this out...ctr-ad.
Forget Michael Bay, this guy should be directing Transformers 2.

SPEAKS FOR ITSELF...

Monks brawl at Christian holy site in Jerusalem

" Israeli police rushed into one of Christianity's holiest churches Sunday and arrested two clergyman after an argument between monks erupted into a brawl next to the site of Jesus' tomb.

The clash between Armenian and Greek Orthodox monks broke out in the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, revered as the site of Jesus' crucifixion, burial and resurrection."

Seaworld

I don't have any particular love for the ocean. I acknowledge, though, and am fascinated by the
wild shit down there.

YES WE DID!

I'm very excited Obama won, this really is amazing. Yes, he'll have to face some huge challenges soon but for now, I'm enjoying the honeymoon.

And on a more serious note, I'm very curious about his cabinet appointments, particularly who'll be Secretary of Robot Affairs.
