I've been hooked on author Michael Connelly's Harry Bosch series.here
So far I've read...The Last Coyote, A Darkness More Than Night, City of Bones, and The Closers.
I'm currently reading The Concrete Blonde.
It's not particularly original or deep, but it's fun reading, and written in an engaging way. It has enough reality mixed in to keep it interesting, kinda like CSI: VEGAS.

What's the theme? Murder/Mystery, espionage, military?
May I suggest Daniel Silva once you are done reading those? He has an ongoing character called Gabriel Alon who was one of the Israeli Assassins who went after Black September. Good reading about Israeli Intelligence/Counter Intelligence. Historical Fiction/Action type stuff.
it's crime/murder mystery set in present day Los Angeles. Harry Bosch is the lone wolf, the jack bauer, the vietnam vet turned homicide detective.
